1965 football program featuring the University of OREGON DUCKS vs. the University of PITTSBURGH PANTHERS
!!
Please see all
five
photos, as they are an important part of my description. The program's classic and humorous front cover show's Pitt's mascot running with the pigskin, as the Duck's mascot struggling to hang on for dear life! As the cover states, this game was billed as "Youth Day". This football game between the
Oregon Ducks
and the
Pitt Panthers
was played on Sept. 18, 1965 in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
at
Pitt Stadium
. It was the first game of the season for both teams; Pitt was defeated by the Ducks on this day, 17-15. There are a total of twenty-eight (28) numbered pages, not including both covers. Complete rosters for both teams are present inside the program, in addition to "probable starting lineups". Head coach for the Ducks was
Len Casanova
; man-in-charge for the Panthers was
John Michelosen
. There are
lots
of great photographs of players for both gridiron teams! An outstanding piece of vintage football memorabilia!!
