    Description

*NOTE TO EBAY - THESE BOXES ARE EMPTY AND DO NOT CONTAIN ANY RESTRICTED AMMUNITION COMPONENTS*
Up for your consideration is a set of two empty reproduction CALIBER .30 M2 ARMOR PIERCING 20 round ammunition cartons with a TWIN CITIES ORDNANCE PLANT label.
The .30-06 cartridge, first developed in 1906, was the official U.S. rifle and light machine gun cartridge in both World Wars and Korea, with combat use finally ending in the 1960s. The huge quantities of ammunition required for World War 2 dramatically reflected the impact on warfare of rapid-fire weapons like the machine gun and semi-automatic rifle. Total small arms ammunition production from 1940-1945 exceeded 41.7 billion rounds, and of that total the Caliber .30 round accounted for 25 billion rounds in all loadings. During the 1930s Frankford was the only plant in the U.S. producing military small arms ammunition. Beginning in 1939, small orders were placed with Remington Arms and Western Cartridge for military cartridges, paving the way for future expansion. The Twin Cities Ordnance Plant was a "2nd Wave" plant operated by the Federal Cartridge Corporation and set up to produce both .30 and .50 caliber ammunition. First production started during February 1942, and was closed during August 1945. Total World War II production exceeded 4 billion rounds, with 2.2 billion being .30 Caliber.
Each "Buy It Now" single purchase is for 2 unassembled cartons with dividers and labels. The Twin Cities Ordnance Plant label has the unique WW2 yellow and blue stripes, which identified the contents as Armor Piercing ammunition, and a hand-stamped lot number matching my original. If you prefer, I can match the lot number of a spam can, crate, or original cartons that you may have. The cartons, dividers, and labels will be shipped flat, with assembly instructions, and the shipping is free within the U.S. I had a lot of these made, so if you want multiple sets, just change the auction quantity before you click the "Buy It Now" button.
Check my feedback and buy with confidence. I prefer paypal, and shipping is free to U.S. buyers. I will ship world-wide, with the buyer paying all shipping charges. Those charges will be added by eBay during the checkout process. I will also combine shipping for multiple items if you ask. Payment is expected within 3 days of purchase. If you have a lot number preference, please send details in the checkout instructions, or send me a separate email.
I also have separate "Buy It Now" listings for M1 Carbine cartons (set "A", "B" and "C"), M1911 .45 ACP cartons (50 round and 20 round), 12 GA cartons (25 round and 10 round), .30 caliber Ball cartons (11 different plants), .30 caliber Armor Piercing cartons (9 different plants), .30 caliber Tracer cartons (6 different plants), .30 caliber Incendiary cartons (3 different plants), .30 caliber Frangible cartons (2 different plants), .30 caliber Rifle Grenade cartons, .30 caliber Bandoleer Lot Cards, .30 caliber Repacked Lot Data Cards (for belted ammo), and two .30 caliber mixed carton display sets. All of these listings can be viewed by clicking on the "Visit store" or "See other items" links located just below my seller info. at the top of this listing.
Thanks for looking, and I appreciate your business.
