and you should AVOID because they have leaks and have lost their oil to function properly. Furthermore, they will lose more oil and suck in water during a dive, which will cause internal corrosion of steel pin, clouding the now oil-water mixture, making it difficult to see the inaccurate bearing it may give(if it has not froze up yet).
I would also avoid generic compasses, compasses made in countries known to lack proper quality control. When purchasing SCUBA gear (life support equipment), stick with brands, companies, and countries that have high quality controls and are known to produce reputable SCUBA gear. Some examples are: USA, Italy, and France.
