Altman Soft-Lite Tungsten Kit 120V - 1000 or 2000W Switchable w/Egg Crate, Bulbs

Description

A lightweight indirect fill-light, the Altman Soft-Lite provides a very soft even wash of light, while taking up far less space than a Fresnel light with softbox mounted. With a virtually shadowless beam, the Soft-Lite will uniformly illuminate an area 26.5' x 23.8' at a distance of ten feet with a center intensity of 96 footcandles.
The Soft-Lite is designed to operate two - double ended tungsten halogen bulbs up to 1000W each, for a maximum of 2000 watts, though the on-cable switch box allows you to select just one light for 1000W or both for a full 2000W, offering a convenient half-output option when less light is needed. Provides a horizontal beam angle of 106° and a vertical beam angle of 100°. Horizontal field angle is 150° and vertical field angle is 135°. The U-shaped die-cast steel fork / yoke allows you to tilt the light up or down. Spigot is included for stand mounting to a 5/8" stud on any standard light stand or C-Stand.
This black enamel finished aluminum fixture is ideal for confined spaces in the studio or on location where high performance, indirect, soft fill light is required. It’s a tough, heavy-duty light with thick, heavy, long 25 foot power cord capable of handling 2000 watts of power charging through it for long periods of time. It is worth noting that the cord on this one has a thick rubber insulated outer layer which on one end of the metal switch box, stops a couple millimeters shy of the metal encasement, though the actual wires within the switch box remain firmly connected to their posts inside… but this in no way affects performance or function and I have operated the light in this condition since purchasing it nearly a decade ago without one single problem. While clean and dust free, it is a bit scratched and scuffed inside and outside the scoop… nothing major though, and if anything, it makes you look like a veteran and not a rookie when you pull it out at a client’s.
As a bonus, this light comes with a metal Egg Crate Grid which slips onto the front of the Altman Soft-Lite and narrows the spread of the light from the fixture to create more focused, precise, dramatic lighting vs diffuse fill-the-room lighting. The mountable Egg Crate is 18.4 x 9 x 4.5" (LxWxH) and weighs 2.3 lb
3 Replacement Bulbs are included for free with this light… (2) 500W bulbs and (1) 300W bulb, allowing you to mix and match for varying degrees of light output with the two 1000W bulbs currently installed (and working 100% well, I might add) inside the light.
